Leadership Development
Leaders are individuals who utilize their Mind, Body and Soul to influence people to strive towards a common purpose.

Leadership

We are in agreement with the findings of the research done by Tom Rath and Barry Conchie which they documented in their book “Strengths based leadership”. Their research shows their core findings around leadership namely:

  1. The most effective leaders are always  investing in strengths.
  2. The most effective leaders surround themselves with the right people and then maximize their team.
  3. The most effective leaders understand their followers’ needs.

According to our experience as well as based on research, we found that there is a tremendous shortage of “true leaders” in the world.

Research further found and we experienced it firsthand that most leaders have enough technical skills and Cognitive skills to do their jobs as leaders. There is however a gaping need for Emotional Skills with several leaders. These skills can, however, be developed.

Looking at research data collected by Six Seconds, and the VUCA demands, it’s time to reconsider. The challenge is, almost all of us in leadership have come of age using an old model. It’s familiar – so irrationally, we seek to maintain it. Instead, let’s take the valuable insights and skills we’ve developed and put them to work in new ways:

Motivation: from extrinsic to intrinsic motivation. Instead of carrots and sticks, managers need to understand how the brain actually works — and how people become deeply motivated.
Teamwork: from individual to team performance. While “stars” once created organizational value, today’s business requires a dramatically different level of collaboration.
Execution: from rigid to agile execution. Given the rapid pace of innovation, “the perfect plan” has become a trap that actually blocks performance. Change: from managing to inspiring change. Instead of a one-time change that could be somewhat controlled, now organizations need to become adaptive.
Trust: from demanding to earning trust. In the past, authority was respected because of position, but now leaders need to be worthy of following.
